I thought I would pop a quick post up while I’m sat in the airport waiting for my flight to Heathrow. I am so glad that I decided to go down today instead of tomorrow, I think I would have felt pretty stressed out going down the night before, worrying about getting there etc. Going today means that tomorrow I can take the day to get settled into my accommodation, get some groceries and read over my notes for training.
I’m sure that I have everything that I need, I’ve checked at least 3 times that I packed my contract and AvMed coursework certificates. I’ve even brought my birth certificate, even though I am 99% certain I won’t need it. Better to be safe than sorry haha!
I had to leave at 3:30pm to get the train to the airport, I didn’t start packing until 1:00pm because I thought it would be easy. It was a lot more stressful than I’d anticipated, I had to take smart clothes for training, clothes for my days off and I had to take clothes for cold and hot destinations! I ended up just throwing a whole load of random stuff in my suitcase, if I have forgotten something I can easily buy it during training.
I’m just really looking forward to starting now, it’s been a long journey to get to this point. I’ve ‘met’ my training buddies through the Facebook group that was set up, there’s a lot of us 37! I was sure that we were told at the assessment day that training classes were no more than 24-26, I could be wrong though! I don’t know if I will be able to post much during training, I’ll try my best to do at least 1 or 2 though. I’ll definitely be able to post more regularly though when I’ve (hopefully!) completed training and I’m flying.
