One Year As Cabin Crew

Well I’ve actually technically been crew for 10 1/2 months, but it has been a year since I started training and became cabin crew. I still can’t quite believe that I have been working for as crew for a year now, it’s been a crazy year full of emotion and adventure, I’ve had my ups and downs but I wouldn’t change a thing! – Actually that is a lie there are a few things that I would like to change, but I want to keep this a positive place so I won’t go into it here 🙂 – In one short year I have made new friends, travelled to more places than I could have ever dreamt of, tasted weird and wonderful food, experienced different cultures and I’ve also learnt more about myself as a person.

I’ve been to so many fantastic places that I honestly couldn’t pick a favourite, each place has its own individual charm or vibe that attracts me to it. If I was forced to compile a top five though I would say in no particular order:

1) Tokyo

2) Vancouver

3) Singapore

4) Chicago

5) Johannesburg

I could however name my least favourite place, that dubious honour would have to go to Houston, sorry Houston! I will say the people I came across were all super friendly though, gotta love that Southern hospitality 🙂

I have no regrets about finally deciding to apply to become cabin crew, in fact my only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner! I feel like I have finally found the job that is right for me, I don’t know how long I will stay in the skies for, but for now I am happy and content. I recently passed my first SEP recurrent which means I can continue to live the dream for at least another year 🙂

I can’t wait to see adventures what the next year will bring me!
