Lion & Safari Park, Johannesburg

I went to the Lion & Safari Park on one of my first ever trips to JNB back in January.  I was in two minds about whether I should write this post or not, the safari aspect was fine it seemed a bit basic but it wasn’t expensive so I wasn’t expecting much. The lion cub interaction however, I really did not like one bit, it is painfully obvious that they have been drugged and it just left me with a horrible taste in my mouth, Continue reading

Capilano Suspension Bridge, Vancouver

I was back in Vancouver again recently, even though I have been 4 times previously I’d not yet got around to going to the Capilano Suspension Bridge.  There are regular free buses from Canada Place to the bridge, also as crew I got free entry, much better than the $40 entrance fee! 🙂 The weather was literally a washout, the benefit of this was the bridge wasn’t as busy as it usually is.

Helsinki, Finland

I was having a look through pictures on my phone and I realised that I haven’t blogged about some of the places that I’ve been too. Helsinki was my first ever night stop all the way back in December, it was really beautiful (and cold!) so I thought I’d share 🙂

Johannesburg

I’ve been to Johannesburg, or Joburg as it is commonly called, 6 maybe even 7 times now but I’ve never thought to write a post. I had a really nice trip recently so thought I would pop up a post. Most trips to Joburg are made up of 3 basics: pool, wine/cocktails and steak so I suppose that is why I’ve never made a post as it could be seen as boring couldn’t it??!  The hotel we stay in is absolutely gorgeous, it’s a favourite of all the crew.

On landing day we got to the hotel round about 9am, as it had been a night flight and I’d been up since 8am the day before I slept until about 2pm. I then headed down to the pool where I had a delicious strawberry daiquiri and had a chat with a few of the girls.

Septembers Roster

Here is where I will be flying off to in September.

Atlanta

Team day

Kos t&b

St Petersburg t&b

10 days annual leave

Vancouver

I am hoping that I can swap off the Atlanta for something else, it will be my 4th trip and I really have no desire to go again! I am pleased that I got another Vancouver though before the A380 loses it to the 747, I will be crossing my fingers that it doesn’t rain so I can get out and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Beautiful Vancouver

I’ve been to Vancouver 4 times now, and I have another trip coming up! The first thing you notice on the drive from the airport to the hotel is the scenery, it is absolutely breathtaking! I don’t really want to bore you with lot’s of posts about the same place, so this is a summary. Plus on 2 of the 4 trips it rained quite heavily so I didn’t really do much on them.

August Roster

Here is where I will be flying to in August!

Prague t&b

Atlanta

Johannesburg x 2

Luanda

Vancouver

This months roster is great in that apart from the early report for my Prague I don’t have any early starts. I would have been happier if I had got either the Shanghai or Philadelphia I’d bid for, but oh well there’s always next month. I’m going to either ask for unpaid leave for the Prague or see if I can swap it for an available day as I have 2 available days after it and it will make it easier for me to get a long haul trip. I don’t have any standby which is great too!
