My trip to Bintan Island involved yet another early start, I was so tired by this point that I was almost tempted to stay in bed. The thought of spending the day in an Indonesian paradise soon had me jumping out of bed though! There are several different resorts you can stay in on Bintan, we decided to go with Nirwana Gardens as we were only going for the day, it was reasonably priced and not too far from the ferry terminal which meant we could spend more time there.
There are so many things that you can do in Sydney, but when you only have 30 hours you don’t have anywhere enough time to do everything. One of the things on my list of potential things to do in Sydney was to visit the Blue Mountains. The Blue Mountains are a 2 hour train journey to the north-west of Sydney, we work a night flight from SIN to SYD and as you would expect the crew are all tired beyond belief, so I didn’t think anyone would want to come with me and I didn’t think it was wise to go alone. Thankfully some of the crew where up for an adventure, so after a quick shower and shovelling some food down our throats at the hotel breakfast buffet we made our way to the train station for what would turn out to be an amazing day.
Katoomba was such a cute little town
I was over the moon to be rostered another trip to SIN and SYD recently, for those of you who don’t know it is a 9 day trip which consists of 2 nights in SIN, 1 night in SYD and another 2 nights in SIN. It is the most popular trip and is most crews top bid. As with my previous SIN/SYD posts, which you can read about here, here and here, I will split the trip into three separate posts to make it easier to read 🙂
The flight out to Singapore was pretty easy and straightforward, the only issue for me was the fact it is so long and feeling bored/tired while waiting to go on second break!
As with any long trip a Whatsapp group was set up, quite a few suggested going to Sentosa. I’ve already been to Sentosa before and while I wasn’t really too fussed about going back, I think my brain was too tired to function and I couldn’t think of anything else to do (despite making a list with at least 6 or 7 things I wanted to do in Singapore before I left home!!) so I said I would go too lol! Philly was one of the destinations that I would bid for every month, but I would never get. It was really frustrating because it seemed like everyone I knew was getting a trip apart from me. Since January however, I have been rostered 3 in the space of about 6 weeks! I’m just going to combine what I did into the one post because, I didn’t really do enough on each individual trip to justify writing separate posts. Hope you enjoy!
I’ve been to Miami twice since we got the route back on my fleet, considering it’s a place I wasn’t too fussed about going to I had a lovely time each visit especially as both where team trips so I had some familiar faces.
On my first trip to Miami I went on a boat tour of the houses of the rich and famous, it was a nice relaxed way to spend an hour or two. I got major home envy, if I ever win the lottery (hard seeing as I don’t play it lol) I would definitely buy myself a house here as it is gorgeous!
Well I’ve actually technically been crew for 10 1/2 months, but it has been a year since I started training and became cabin crew. I still can’t quite believe that I have been working for as crew for a year now, it’s been a crazy year full of emotion and adventure, I’ve had my ups and downs but I wouldn’t change a thing! – Actually that is a lie there are a few things that I would like to change, but I want to keep this a positive place so I won’t go into it here 🙂 – In one short year I have made new friends, travelled to more places than I could have ever dreamt of, tasted weird and wonderful food, experienced different cultures and I’ve also learnt more about myself as a person.

October’s roster is a bit of a strange one because, on the one hand I got 0% bid satisfaction so I was obviously a bit miffed buuuut on the other hand I have finally been given the SIN/SYD that I have wanted to do since I found out I got the job and looked at the routes I could potentially do! October is also my birthday month so I was ever so slightly worried that I would be stuck on standby, thankfully I have a nice little night stop 🙂
