My trip to Bintan Island involved yet another early start, I was so tired by this point that I was almost tempted to stay in bed. The thought of spending the day in an Indonesian paradise soon had me jumping out of bed though! There are several different resorts you can stay in on Bintan, we decided to go with Nirwana Gardens as we were only going for the day, it was reasonably priced and not too far from the ferry terminal which meant we could spend more time there.
I was over the moon to be rostered another trip to SIN and SYD recently, for those of you who don’t know it is a 9 day trip which consists of 2 nights in SIN, 1 night in SYD and another 2 nights in SIN. It is the most popular trip and is most crews top bid. As with my previous SIN/SYD posts, which you can read about here, here and here, I will split the trip into three separate posts to make it easier to read 🙂
The flight out to Singapore was pretty easy and straightforward, the only issue for me was the fact it is so long and feeling bored/tired while waiting to go on second break!
As with any long trip a Whatsapp group was set up, quite a few suggested going to Sentosa. I’ve already been to Sentosa before and while I wasn’t really too fussed about going back, I think my brain was too tired to function and I couldn’t think of anything else to do (despite making a list with at least 6 or 7 things I wanted to do in Singapore before I left home!!) so I said I would go too lol! Time for the final part of my 9 day SIN/SYD trip 🙂 I must admit that by the time we where flying back to Singapore I was starting to feel very tired, I think I underestimated how tired I was going to be!
We arrived at the hotel around 9PM, a few of the crew arranged to go for drinks and food but I was exhausted and pretty much fell asleep as soon as I got to my room. I slept until 1AMish, when I was woken by my rumbling stomach so I headed to the McDonald’s (up until this trip I have managed to avoid going to McDonald’s, on this trip I managed a total of 3 visits eek!) around the corner where I bumped into another crew member so we chatted for a while before I called it a night and went back to bed.
I woke up the next morning feeling refreshed after a good nights sleep, I made sure to slap on plenty of factor 50 and then headed out in search of breakfast before a day of sightseeing. I was torn between going to the botanic gardens or Chinatown, I went with Chinatown as I wanted to visit the temples.
I am going to split my SIN/SYD trip up into separate posts, it would be far too long not to! So up first is my first visit to Singapore, hope you enjoy 🙂
The flight to Singapore from LHR was probably one of the most difficult and tiring that I’ve done, so when we arrived I quickly showered and changed before meeting up with some of the cabin and flight crew for some well-earned drinks and Chinese food.
