Singapore Take Two: A Daytrip to Bintan Island

My trip to Bintan Island involved yet another early start, I was so tired by this point that I was almost tempted to stay in bed. The thought of spending the day in an Indonesian paradise soon had me jumping out of bed though! There are several different resorts you can stay in on Bintan, we decided to go with Nirwana Gardens as we were only going for the day, it was reasonably priced and not too far from the ferry terminal which meant we could spend more time there.

Singapore Pt 1: Rain and Flowers

I was over the moon to be rostered another trip to SIN and SYD recently, for those of you who don’t know it is a 9 day trip which consists of 2 nights in SIN, 1 night in SYD and another 2 nights in SIN. It is the most popular trip and is most crews top bid. As with my previous SIN/SYD posts, which you can read about here, here and here, I will split the trip into three separate posts to make it easier to read 🙂

The flight out to Singapore was pretty easy and straightforward, the only issue for me was the fact it is so long and feeling bored/tired while waiting to go on second break!

Day 1

As with any long trip a Whatsapp group was set up, quite a few suggested going to Sentosa. I’ve already been to Sentosa before and while I wasn’t really too fussed about going back, I think my brain was too tired to function and I couldn’t think of anything else to do (despite making a list with at least 6 or 7 things I wanted to do in Singapore before I left home!!) so I said I would go too lol! Philadelphia: The City Of Brotherly Love

Philly was one of the destinations that I would bid for every month, but I would never get. It was really frustrating because it seemed like everyone I knew was getting a trip apart from me. Since January however, I have been rostered 3 in the space of about 6 weeks! I’m just going to combine what I did into the one post because, I didn’t really do enough on each individual trip to justify writing separate posts. Hope you enjoy!

Welcome to Miami ~Bienvenido a Miami~

I’ve been to Miami twice since we got the route back on my fleet, considering it’s a place I wasn’t too fussed about going to I had a lovely time each visit especially as both where team trips so I had some familiar faces.

On my first trip to Miami I went on a boat tour of the houses of the rich and famous, it was a nice relaxed way to spend an hour or two. I got major home envy, if I ever win the lottery (hard seeing as I don’t play it lol) I would definitely buy myself a house here as it is gorgeous!

One Year As Cabin Crew

Well I’ve actually technically been crew for 10 1/2 months, but it has been a year since I started training and became cabin crew. I still can’t quite believe that I have been working for as crew for a year now, it’s been a crazy year full of emotion and adventure, I’ve had my ups and downs but I wouldn’t change a thing! – Actually that is a lie there are a few things that I would like to change, but I want to keep this a positive place so I won’t go into it here 🙂 – In one short year I have made new friends, travelled to more places than I could have ever dreamt of, tasted weird and wonderful food, experienced different cultures and I’ve also learnt more about myself as a person.

Singapore & Sydney: Singapore part 2

Time for the final part of my 9 day SIN/SYD trip 🙂 I must admit that by the time we where flying back to Singapore I was starting to feel very tired, I think I underestimated how tired I was going to be!

We arrived at the hotel around 9PM, a few of the crew arranged to go for drinks and food but I was exhausted and pretty much fell asleep as soon as I got to my room. I slept until 1AMish, when I was woken by my rumbling stomach so I headed to the McDonald’s (up until this trip I have managed to avoid going to McDonald’s, on this trip I managed a total of 3 visits eek!) around the corner where I bumped into another crew member so we chatted for a while before I called it a night and went back to bed.

Day 1

I woke up the next morning feeling refreshed after a good nights sleep, I made sure to slap on plenty of factor 50 and then headed out in search of breakfast before a day of sightseeing. I was torn between going to the botanic gardens or Chinatown, I went with Chinatown as I wanted to visit the temples.

Singapore & Sydney: Sydney

Day 1

We arrived in Sydney at about 6AM, I didn’t want to waste a moment of the time I had there, so after arranging to meet up with one of the girls I showered and changed, then chilled for a while before heading out to explore. Some of the crew had mentioned that a really nice thing to do in Sydney was to have a champagne breakfast at one of the many restaurants and cafes, so we set off to find somewhere!
